Drying Studies of Oil Palm Decanter Cake for Production of Green Fertilizer

The oil palm tree (Elaeis guineensis) yields from the flesh of its fruit that can be used in various industries. extraction process produces decanter cake as one their waste products. Drying applied to for repurposing. aim this study is determine drying characteristics mill waste. Four thin layer models were define cake. are Newton model, Henderson and Pabis Logarithmic Two Term model. samples dried at 105°C by using convection oven, following ASTM D2974-20e1 obtain moisture content. Non-linear regression LAB Fit Curve Fitting Software was statistical analysis get predicted data. data compared experimental carried out three different thickness (0.3 cm, 0.5 cm 1 cm). Coefficient determination (R2), reduced chi-square (X2) root mean square error (RMSE) parameters involved. Higher R2 with lower X2 RMSE indicates good correlation similarities model prediction. Results shows not suitable within hours mechanized dryers. From analysis, generated best predictability 0.3 thickness.
